Deconstructing Feedback!

I had a class crit on Thursday. It went quite well, usually the format is that we present our work infront of the class and lecturers. Lecturers give us feedback and the class can give their opinions too. We decided as a class to ask for a change so it’s more student led. We took turns taking notes for whoever’s turn it was, so people were able to focus on presenting work instead of trying to write down notes too.

I felt my feedback and presentation went pretty well. It was suggested to make the project more ambiguous and make the viewer work more to find the meaning in the photos by photographing the spaces in which sheep reside without any actual sheep. It’s an interesting idea that I will explore further when I shoot this weekend. The good thing about my project is that I can shoot two ideas at once without having to really change location that much, just have to focus on different things.

Here are some of the sample images I presented to my class. I used this as examples and listened to feedback on where people thought I should take their project. I’ve also included the notes of my 6 minutes of time at the end!
